Coach Godfrey has been a fixture in lacrosse for years. He was an All-American midfielder at Merrimack College, also leading the nation in ground balls and ranking second nationally in faceoff percentage while collecting All-Conference and All-New England Honors.
He was later a first-round selection of the world champion Philadelphia Barrage in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) supplemental draft and has experience in the Boston Cannons organization of MLL. Godfrey has played three seasons of box lacrosse in Canada, most recently at the Senior-A level for the Nanaimo Timbermen of the Western Lacrosse Association in British Columbia. He was named to the Team USA indoor developmental team in 2008 and competed at the Warriors Cup in Ontario.
His other coaching appointments include work as an assistant coach at Saint Anselm College (NCAA Division II) and founding two Massachusetts high school programs, at Central Catholic High School and Haverhill High School. He also coached at Billerica High School in Massachusetts, where he helped lead the boys’ lacrosse team to the Division 1 state final in 2008. Godfrey's latest coaching stop was in the Dallas area as the Plano Senior High School boys head coach.
